Previously I discussed the bizarre coincidences between Captain America Brave New World and the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. So now, there’s this new series on Peacock called Day of The Jackal featuring Latasha Lynch and Eddie Mudvayne, Duggan aka The Jackal is contracted to kill. Ulle Dag Charles (UDC), prior to his company's launch of its much-anticipated revolutionary software River which threatens the interests of corrupt business leaders who enlisted the Jackal to take him out. Essentially, UDC's new technology River, sounds something out of Robin Hood's mantra "Take from the rich, give to the poor."
When having the potential to expose their shady dealings, thus significantly impacts their wealth and power.
United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, no, not the 80's actor from Cobra or Fright Night 2, was shot in the back three times with a silencer pistol. The assailant or rather, assassin managed to escape from New York as the police are still pursuing him.
Now while UDC's assassination attempt was botched..well, at least for now..Thompson wasn't so lucky as he had succumb to his wounds.
Unlike UDC who wanted to end economic disparities between the rich and the poor, Thompson and his corporation was the polar opposite.
To appease the UHC's Shareholders, clients who paid into United Healthcare insurance were denied beneficiary claims when it came to their coverage. As a result, some filed for bankruptcy while others who were not so fortunate died due to lack of benefits which they paid into.
This explains why the Thompson killer is seen as a hero while the CEO is vilified as the biggest villain since Thanos.
The insurance industry is nothing more than a racket, you pay into them but when it's time for the company to pay your bills, they would make excuses of why your coverage was denied, this led to “unqualified " recipients to pay huge premiums out from their own pocket.
UDC had the most noble selfless intentions, and this is what makes the Jackal series compelling along with a few other reasons.
Although the he Gunman now revealed as Luigi Mangione (Might as well be called Frank Castiglione) has been caught thanks to a MCDonalds employer who I guess needed the money because Micky D's don't pay shit. Mangione railed against Corporate America and while some may think his actions are a bit extreme, one thing is clear, some Americans have become more transparent when it comes to making attempts on the lives of major public figures who they feel are a threat to this Nation's well-being, thus igniting a brazen if not surreal shift. Whether its Politicians or Corporations, there should be more accountability to help others in need instead of greed! If not, situations like this may occur more often.
