It looks as if the Blade reboot is resuming after all..

Previously actor Marshella Ali stated his dissatisfaction with the Blade reboot he was slated to star as Marvel 's fearless vampire killer, who gained notoriety from the 1998 movie featuring Wesley Snipes.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Ali was openly optimistic when updating the project's status.

Ali went on to say:

“We’re working on it. That’s the best I could tell you. I’m really encouraged with the direction of the project. I think we’ll be back at it relatively soon… I’m sincerely encouraged in terms of where things are at and who’s on board and who’s leading the way as far as the writing of the script and the directing and all that. So that’s the extent of what I can tell you.”

What sounds somewhat interesting is that “True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto who Ali starred in Season 3 of hbo’s critically acclaimed series, is up in the running for script treatment. The project directed by Yann Demange of “Lovecraft Country” is still on board for the R-rated film scheduled for 2025.

While there is skepticism of Ali's casting due to his age, this reboot may stand a chance of being a success especially since the original concept contained some very let's just say, "questionable creative liberties " like Blade being relegated as the fourth character, with the story mostly centered around women.

In order to differentiate from the Wesley Snipes movies, it's best for Disney to revert to the original version, as in the OG Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan comics which began 50 years ago. There was rumor of this reboot being a period piece so that should work, if Marvel Studios slash Disney is open to refreshing concepts.
